This week was a little crazy, but we were learning all about -
Meerkats!
It was really a mini-unit, but we had a lot of fun and learned a lot, too!
Did you know-
- A meerkat's favorite food? (Scorpions)
- What a meerkat family is called? (Mob)
- That they are carnivorous?
- What family they are in? (The Mongoose family)
- How big they are? (they only weigh as much as a squirrel!)
- What the name 'meerkat' means? (Lake Cat- which is weird, they live in the desert...)
We also got to put some great meerkat pages in our zoo animal lapbook. I didn't get any pictures of us doing 'meerkat stuff', but we did have a great time at the park and I got lots of pictures of that. :)
We are continuing steadily along in our math, but Bop is having some trouble remembering the NAMES of some of the numbers- she gets 14 and 40 mixed up, for example. We are working on that, and we are enjoying our Peterson Directed Handwriting.
We were learning about letter 'd' this week, so all of our stuff was DINOSAURS, which thrilled CJ. Baby Girl really liked lining all the dinosaurs up. She didn't quite have the SIZE thing down, but she made a nice line.
See what I did?
Sorting little and big 'D's.
Now for the park pictures:
The sweet, pensive, lovely, silly, totally girly oldest one. (See how she never stops thinking?)
The talkative, cuddly, loves-his-mama, questioning, all boy middlest one. (notice he is talking in ALL of these pictures??)
The ornery, totally show-off, silly, climbing, lovey littlest one. (See that face?)
